Orange Glazed Chicken with Ginger Zing

  • 6-8 whole chicken legs
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar, scant
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons sherry
  • 1/8 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Ginger Zing Infused Sea Salt, Salts of the 7 Seas
  • Slivered Almonds (optional)

Brown chicken in butter or margarine. Remove chicken from skillet. To the drippings add flour, sugar, dry mustard, and cinnamon. Stir to blend well. Add the orange juice and sherry and cook until mixture bubbles. Return chicken to the skillet, cover, and simmer gently until the chicken is tender, about 1 hour. Don’t worry if there seems to be too little sauce. As the chicken cooks more gravy is formed. Turn the chicken once or twice during cooking. Partially uncover for the last 15 minutes if the sauce seems too thin. Pieces should be nicely glazed with enough sauce to spoon over each piece. Sprinkle Ginger Zing! Infusion over each serving and lightly toasted slivered almonds.
