From an unexpected place, under the barren Kalahari Desert in South Africa, three streams converge in an ancient underground lake. The Dwyka rock formation over which these streams flow and from where the sodium chloride and minerals as well as trace elements leach into the brine waters. These waters are pumped up from the lake into salt pans where it is dried by the sun and wind and what is left behind is a beautiful, pure white mineral-rich sea salt.
