A delicate, crunchy sea salt harvested from the Yellow Sea off the west coast of South Korea. This all-natural, mineral-rich sea salt can be used in variety of applications, a perfect compliment to all your cooking. In 2008, Salts of the 7 Seas was invited by The Jeollanamdo Provincial Gov. N Y Trade Office of S. Korea, to be their guest at the first annual Solar Sea Salt & International Food Fair in Gwangju, the second largest city in South Korea. We were so greatly impressed by their graciousness and commitment as a significant player on the world stage of commerce, agriculture, technology and manufacturing. On this trip, we visited a family-owned sea salt farm on the west coast where they proudly showed us their custom black tiled salt ponds. These very ponds are used in the spring and summer months for gathering sea water and evaporating it slowly using only solar heat. The white and crunchy sea salt crystals left behind are further dried and aged in beautiful wood-lined salt barns located near the ponds. This unforgetable expereince was an opportunity of a life-time and we wanted to share this beautiful Salt of Heaven™ Korean sea salt and story with you!
