Sweet and Salty, another day stuck in quarantine!

During this quarantine time, we all need a little bit of that happy feeling that we get when we bite into a food that excites our tastebuds.  Try our homemade brownie recipe either from a box mix or from the recipe below.  The key is to add a pyramid flake sea salt like Aegean Cyprus Flake Sea Salt. These pyramid flake salts have a texture and crunch all their own. It's frankly amazing on brownies!


 Sweet & Salty Brownies Recipe..... by Betty Crocker!

The traditional fudgy brownies- favorite with just about everyone.

4 oz. of unsweetened chocolate

2/3 c. shortening

2 c. sugar

4 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

 1 1/4 c. enriched flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1tsp. salt

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13 x 9 x2 inch pan . Melt chocolate and shortening in a large saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat. Mix in sugar, eggs, and vanilla Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread in pan.

Bake for 30 minutes until brownies start to pull away from the sides of the pan. Do not overbake! Cool slightly. Top with Chocolate frosting.

Chocolate Butter Frosting Recipe

Rich, creamy chocolate goodness.

1/3 c. soft butter or margerine

2 oz. melted unsweetened chocolate (cool)

2c. confectioner's sugar

11/2 tsp. vanilla

About 2 tbs. milk

Mix thoroughly butter and cooled chocolate. Blend in sugar. Stir in vanilla and milk. Beat until frosting is smooth and of spreading consistency.


Final touch....sprinkle Salts of the 7 Seas, Aegean Sea Exotic Sea Salt over the top!  It makes for the perfect dessert salt!
